World News & Events: What is the exact death toll of Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami?

Many think that the death rate of Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami is comparatively very less because of the advanced lifestyle and preventive measures take by Japanese authority. Reason behind this notion is that, the earthquake occurred in the other parts of the world especially in Haiti, killed millions of people, but that earthquake was less in magnitude comparing to what occurred in Japan on 11th March.

But in fact, the death toll of the Japanese earthquake is terribly beyond the claims of Japanese authority. As per the official statements, the death toll is currently 1600, since they count only the dead bodies found!

According to the independent agencies, the estimated death toll will be around 70000, considering many villages and townships which are completely vanished in the Tsunami.

The lesser population and density in the regions where the Tsunami hit was one of the reason for less casualties. and it is not less to praise the preventive measures, especially the building construciton methodology adopted by Japan. The videos below shows a huge building shaking for several minutes, but it is not collapsing. If this building where elsewhere in the world especially third world countries, it would have collapsed in the first moment itself.
